The Michigan House is an 11 acre, rural homestead built from the ground by Blondena Weaver in 1958. Now, we, the granddaughter and great-granddaughter of Blondena are working to preserve this property, preparing it to welcome generations to come.

The patio was a place where elders & children gathered, told stories & welcomed guests hailing from all over the Midwest and beyond. Horseback riding, barbecues, church picnics, community organizer retreats, volleyball, fish-frys, basketball, softball and an annual apple picking event were just a few of the ways that people came together at the country home.
Inspired by the socio-political climate in Chicago, Blondena Weaver saw a need for a serene space of solace for her family and friends. Just a two hour drive away, the house in Western Michigan has been just that for thousands over five generations.
The future of this secluded property will include community organizations, camps, retreats and other programming to promote relaxation, authenticity and community. We welcome you to partner with us!
Stay in the know! We would love to keep you updated on The Michigan House!
